A "Griswald" Christmas Tree

It doesn't look too bad, in fact, it looks pretty good. Not to many open spaces and it looks about the right height. Perfect for our family room...


Until we got it in the house! Wow! It's great but it takes up the WHOLE family room! It's really, really tall. Keep in mind Ty is 6'3''!

We got it in and we had to make some fast decisions. This is Ty thinking, what in the heck are we going to do?

After some thought, we decided to start up the chain saw...in the house...and take off the bottom 3 feet. It actually helped and the tree fits a little better!

However, we think the final product turned out looking very festive and we have grown quite fond of our very tall, very sappy, very good smelling Christmas tree!

Fancy Dinner Night, Resturant Style

Every once in a while we have a fancy dinner night at our house. So when we had the opportunity to take the kids to the Melting Pot, we did. We thought it would be good to try out some of the manners we have tried to teach them at our fancy dinner nights at home. Of course they did a fantastic job with their manners and they had a blast cooking their own food and trying all the different varieties of the "dipping" food!
