UEA: Usually an Exciting Adventure

This was a "stay at home" weekend for us.  Jaden had 8 teeth pulled Wednesday and Ty had school, we had to get creative and find entertainment not far from home.  We only had one day that Ty could spend with us, so off to the Aerospace Museum we went.  With a stop at a park on the way there for a little family picnic.  We had a blast!

We really liked the art work on the planes.  It had the name of the plane and many of them kept a tally of how many others they shot down.

After our adventure at the Aerospace Museum we still had some time left in our day. We decided to take the kids to Antelope Island. We have never taken them to see the Great Salt Lake. At first they were not so excited, but when we told them we could walk down to the water and skip rocks, their little attitudes changed and they forgot all about that smell they had been complaining about!

The water is pretty low so we had quite a walk.

Jaxon collected "special" rocks all the way down to the water.

There is something about water that attracts kids and they jump in
within 10 seconds of arrival!

Our walk back to the car seemed really long.
Maybe because everyone was REALLY wet!

I see London, I see France. Who didn't like their really wet pants?

When we got back to the car those who had not already taken off their pants did and sweatshirts went around waists for the ride home. Guess this means we'll be hitting a drive thru instead of Training Table for dinner!

Ty wanted to drive around and see all the buffalo while we were there.  We were trying really hard to get one to look up at us, but they must really like to eat those weeds!

Whenever we have Ty and the camera, there are always some great
shots that I find when I import the pictures.
So once again I give you...

"TY AND HIS CAMERA"

And my favorite...

It's Baaaaack!

After almost 6 months of no "white stuff" on the ground, this past weekend it has returned. The kids are totally stoked. Jaden and Jessie are counting the days until the ski resorts open. In fact they took inventory on their snowboarding equipment to make sure they have everything. (Including getting the songs on their ipods in the right order!) Jaxon just thought it was Christmas and was upset because he hasn't sent his letter to Santa yet. But don't worry, that letter will be in the mail shortly just in case it's really Christmas and everyone is tricking him!

Just a Reminder...

Don't forget to check out Jaxon's blog for Karate updates.  He won't let me post anything on our family page!

Saturday Photo Shoot

It was raining and cloudy on Saturday.  The soccer game was rained out, Ty had school and we were bored!  So I took the kids and my camera to the trails and started shooting.  Here's a few shots from our morning.

Wanna Hang Out???

Today I got my usual 8:15 am phone call from my friend Velvet. Amazingly enough, we were both free for the day so we decided to hang out and make salsa. I was excited because there is never a dull moment when cooking with her. For example, you can take the easiest recipe for a chocolate cake in the crock pot and for some reason it comes out looking like this...

No problem... Chocolate Cake anyone? Anyway, we began our salsa adventure at Albertsons. We got all the ingredients plus lots of Diet Coke! The salsa making went really well. We decided to quadruple the recipe and Velvet's math isn't much better than mine, so the laughing began. We figured it out and finished our salsa with my kitchen looking like tomatoes had exploded. The salsa tasted good, but Velvet decided it need something else so through my spices she went. Adding this and that and like 8 more cloves of garlic than the recipe called for. I trusted her because she made this the other day and it was wonderful. We finished and amazingly it tasted great! Then it sat until dinner. When we ate it with our tacos, it was the best garlic salsa I have ever tasted! Needless to say, apparently the flavors blend the longer the salsa sits. Moral to the story: When making salsa, it doesn't have to taste exactly right when the project is complete and it's probably a good idea to follow the recipe!

Fall Soccer

It's hard to believe that Fall is here already.
Jaxon started soccer and Ty is the coach.
They are having an absolute blast this year...  Go Pirates!
