Rasch Family vs Food

If you are familiar with the TV show "Man vs Food" then you will totally get this post! Recently that TV show has become a new favorite at our house. It's about a "man" who travels around the country and tries to eat all of the "challenging" dishes at restaurants, ballparks, fairs, etc. The other night he was visiting a ballpark that made a 5 pound hamburger. The deal was in the 7th inning stretch you start to eat the burger and finish it before the game was over. So the "man" took on the challenge. As we were watching the show... we tried explaining to our kids how much hamburger that really is. They said they got it, but we weren't so sure.

Jaden and Jessica were still thinking about it the next day. So they experimented by making a "double grilled cheese sandwich." They could only eat one half!!

Then last night for dinner we decided to challenge the kids... Ty made a 5 pound hamburger!!! The kids couldn't stop laughing!! The hamburger was HUGE!!! Of course we cut it into pieces, but even that it was a lot of hamburger to eat! Our little family was able to polish off half of the burger!! I guess we can have the other half for lunch today!!

Sunday Afternoon Boredom

Sunday we went on a "FAMILY DRIVE" to Guardsman Pass. The kids loaded the car with snacks, drinks and blankets. I'm not sure if they were pleasantly surprised or a little disappointed when it only took us 20 minutes to get there! It was beautiful!!! The leaves are so bright and vibrant. It almost hurt to look at them when the sun was shining down onto the trees. The colors are absolutely magnificent this year!

Just Incase....

"JUST INCASE" you are not up at the crack of dawn like Jaden and myself... and "JUST INCASE" you live someplace where the mountains might block your view... you may have missed this the past few mornings...

The biggest, brightest star ever!

Actually, it's Jupiter.

It's super big and super bright!

New Paint...

Those of you who know me, know that when I decide I'm going to do something... I'm going to do it NOW!!! I decided two weeks ago that we needed to paint our house. Ty agreed that we needed to paint... just NOT yet... maybe when he had a little more time or a break from school. Being the patient person that I am...I went to the store, picked out the paint, bought it and started my project. How hard can it be... right?!?!

We do have two rooms that are 18 feet tall, therefore it would require me to use Ty' help. Being the good husband that he is, he helped me paint those really high walls! As you all know when projects start sometimes they create more projects. Saturday we were finishing the family room and we decided to pull off and replace a piece of floor board that had gotten wet and warped. As soon as Ty pulled it off, I began to gag... there was MOLD... EEEWWWW!!!! The whole scene was so funny!!! Long story short, the "simple" painting project turned into a "simple" carpet replacement also. UGH!!! But it looks so great and we are loving it!!!

Introducing....

Our beautiful Day Lily's keep disappearing! Seriously sad since they are the ONE thing that grow really well at our elevation. I thought for sure it was the deer... but... the culprit finally showed his face the other night...
HELLO MR. MOOSE!!!

One of the Lily plants after Mr. Moose found them...

It's hard to tell in these pictures how LARGE this Mr. Moose really is. It was either a junior or a small adult... thank goodness there was no Mommy around!!

Leaving the Rasch's... on his way to the neighbors trees...
