Gentlemen, Set Up Your Car!

It's Ty and Jaden's favorite time of year, Pinewood Derby Time! Last year Jaden swept all the races and came in 1st place. This year the pressure was on. Ty and Jaden built the car the day before the race not giving themselves much time to work on it. The day of the race, Ty weighed the car and it wasn't even close to the weight it was supposed to be. He came home from work a little early and hurried and drilled out the bottom of the car and filled it with sauder. Now this presented a slight problem with the not so dry paint! As you can imagine those two trying to repaint the car two hours before the race, was quite a sight to see! As we went to the race Jaden was a little worried because he didn't think his car was going to do well. Much to Jaden's surprise, his not so cool car was faster than expected. The car won 3 out of the four heats it raced. It took 2nd place overall and beat Ty's car by one thousandth of a second! It also won 3rd place for best looking...go figure!

Jaden's winning car from last year is on the left, Jaden's car this year is in the middle and Ty's car is on the right.

Grandpa's have The Best Toys!

Our Grandpa's all have such fun toys. Whether it is Grandpa Dick's remote control race cars and hot tub, or Big G's movie theater and boat, well and Grandpa Ric just happen to have this "little" toy in his driveway last week when we stopped by to visit. All three kids found their own fun thing to do on Grandpa's truck. Their favortie was to pretend they were driving. The only thing was is they had to fight Jaden for the spot! We love all our grandpa's and thanks for sharing all your toys!

Happy Birthday Jax Man!

We can hardly believe that it has been three years that we have had our Jaxon! Time flies when you are having fun! Jaxon had a great birthday. He has been waiting and waiting for it to come. He was so excited to get breakfast in bed. His breakfast consisted of a "diet coke", 3 pieces of sausage, an egg and a chocolate donut. (All his favorites!) He loved his presents. Each time he would open one he would hold it up and pose for a picture. He also loved getting all the phone calls with that happy birthday song. When the phone would ring he would run and say, "I'm right here!" He liked answering it because all the calls were for him! We are glad you had a great birthday Jax!

Finally, The Tramp Is Up!

Jaden, Jessica and Jaxon have been waiting forever for the tramp to come out of winter storage! They have been bugging Ty for about a month to put it together. Ty kept telling them when the snow melts and the ground isn't soggy. So as you can imagine they were a little shocked but very excited when Ty finally said "ok". I think the happy screams were heard miles away! They couldn't wait to show off a few tricks. Jaden can front and back flip, Jessie can front flip and Jax can jump so high! Great job guys! Maybe with a little more practice, mom will be able to take pictures during the flips instead of capturing the landings!

Go Jaden!

Congratulations Jaden! He was awarded 3rd Honorable Mention in the State of Utah Poetry Contest. Amazing! We were sooooo excited. He got a little embarrassed when they called his name because Ty and I were cheering so loud. (Jessica even leaned over and put her hand over my mouth!) He was awarded a certificate, $10 and a book that his poem was published in. If that isn't exciting enough, he had 3 classmates finish in the top ten as well. We celebrated with his friends and their families with dinner at Fridays and the waiters serenaded the three champs with a poetry song and icecream.

Celebrating Easter, Rasch Style!

We had a fantastic Easter! Now if you are driving on I-80 past Jeremy Ranch and you hear some fabulous singing...It might be coming from the Rasch house! The Easter Bunny was kind enough to leave us a karoake machine. Jaden, Jessica and Jaxon have all become good singers. They are loud, so listen close as you drive by! Thanks Easter Bunny!

Just a few shots from the annual neighborhood Easter egg hunt!

Happy Birthday Ty!

Time flies when your having fun, 37 years of fun! Ty celebrated his birthday on Wednesday. It started out with our traditional breakfast in bed and the opening of presents. But we should actually say it's Ty's birthday week, because we have celebrated all week. Grandma Jo made him his favorite dinner... pork chops and apple sauce with his favorite birthday cake, peanut butter cookies! (Ty doesn't like cake.) Then of course more presents including the famous birthday envelope covered in stickers from the Little Grandma. And coming up on Sunday we will celebrate with the Rasch family. Wow, what a spoiled guy!
